Location: Pune

Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and development of seat systems — including structure, foam, trim, and comfort mechanisms.
• Conduct concept feasibility studies and provide design proposals aligned with ergonomics and vehicle packaging requirements.
• Develop and validate 3D models & 2D drawings using CAD tools (CATIA / NX / Creo).
• Work closely with cross-functional teams (CAE, Testing, Manufacturing, and Purchasing) to ensure design robustness and manufacturability.
• Define Bill of Materials (BOM) and manage change control during development.
• Coordinate with suppliers for prototype development, design reviews, and engineering change implementation.
• Support DFMEA and DVP creation for seat systems.
• Validate seat system performance (comfort, durability, NVH, safety) in accordance with OEM standards.
• Participate in vehicle integration and clash checks to ensure fitment within vehicle architecture.
• Provide technical support during tooling, proto builds, and production launch.
   

Skills and experience:

• 4–10 years in automotive seating system design and development
• Hands-on experience in seating projects (front/rear seats, luxury seats, or 3rd-row folding systems).
• Experience working with global platforms or customer-facing engineering roles.
• Strong knowledge of automotive seating systems: Structure, Foam, and Trim.
• Expertise in CAD tools: CATIA V5 / Siemens NX (3D modeling & drafting).
• Good understanding of materials (steel, foam, fabric, leather) and manufacturing processes (welding, forming, molding, trimming).
• Knowledge of GD&T, DFMEA, DVP, and vehicle safety standards.
• Exposure to seat comfort, NVH, and crash performance parameters.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
