Aveva PI

Responsibilities:

  • Coordination of maintenance windows, patching of servers with PI components, controlled system starts and functional tests
  • Interface installation/configuration (new, hardware change, upgrade). Initial contact and acceptance is carried out by the Wacker PI team.
  • Reacting to faults
  • Daily system check of the PI components (hardware and software)
  • Monitoring of services and tasks for which the PI servers form the database
  • Proactive search for anomalies, e.g. B. in the event log, other log files
  • Implementation of coordinated solutions in the PI Asset Framework (analyses, structures and authorizations) and their documentation
  • Development and redesign of user-defined applications in the PI environment (C#, PI AFSDK, PI Web Api)
  • Planning and carrying out migrations
  • Information exchange (PI-JF, JF process data management)
  • Tests for changes (e.g. new versions of PI products)
  • Monitoring of application and web servers (Grafana, PI Vision)
  • System configurations or system maintenance (e.g. performance counters, tuning parameters, PI Identities, batch/event frames)
  • Creation and evaluation of status reports e.g. stale or configure tags
     

Skills and experience:

  • Successfully completed university degree in computer science or comparable as well as initial practical work experience as a software developer
  • Sound knowledge of programming with C#
  • Experience with Web APIs
  • Initial experience in the use of monitoring applications like Grafana
  • High analytical skills and a comprehensive understanding of the software development and implementation process as well as the modelling of applications, interfaces and data structures
  • Experience in production or in a production-related environment as well as a current overview of Industry 4.0 trends such as Smart Factory, IIoT, Big Data, etc. would be ideal
  • Fluent in German & English language
